Environmental & Mass Toxic Tort Litigation

Coburn & Coffman’s environmental litigation focuses on achieving cost-effective solutions to environmental contamination, environmental regulation, and other environmental concerns.  The firm represents both companies and individuals confronting environmental matters.  We work with our clients not only to solve the complex litigation issues, but also the political issues inherent in most environmental cases.  As a result, we consult with a wide range of environmental experts to prepare for trial and we work with a diverse array of environmental organizations to achieve politically acceptable and economically viable solutions.

We handle litigation in several fora, including regulatory proceedings, negotiations, and trial.  We have handled matters implicating several statutes including, Superfund (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act.

We also have experience representing plaintiffs in mass toxic tort litigation.  These cases are primarily based on negligence, products liability, or premises liability legal theories.  Our lawyers take on these cases as a part of their commitment to the public interest.  We have found that when the government will not or cannot regulate clear corporate malfeasance, then a jury will.
