Kobie Flowers is an experienced trial lawyer and litigator who represents individuals and businesses in complex criminal and civil matters.

He has first-chair trial experience both building cases for the government as a federal prosecutor and fighting the government’s case as an assistant federal public defender (“AFPD”). As a member of the Attorney General’s Honors Program, he worked for the United States Justice Department, Civil Rights Division, Criminal Section for four years. He conducted complex grand jury investigations involving fraud, false statement, obstruction of justice, and perjury charges as components of enforcing federal criminal civil rights statutes. Along with other recognition for his service, he earned the Assistant Attorney General’s Special Commendation for Outstanding Service. After his tenure as a federal prosecutor, he served two years as an AFPD in Baltimore, MD where he successfully defended cases involving fraud, false statement, obstruction of justice, bribery, tax, and perjury charges.

Following his government service, Kobie entered private practice and focused on complex commercial litigation. He has assisted corporate clients with investigations involving the False Claims Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and federal securities laws. Additionally, he has experience in mass toxic tort litigation.

Kobie is a graduate of Stanford University and Georgetown Law. He is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland and New Jersey. He is admitted to practice before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the District of Maryland. He has taught trial practice to other defense attorneys as part of the Criminal Justice Act Panel Training for the District of Maryland.

Before starting his legal career, Kobie served in the United States Peace Corps as a volunteer in Côte d’Ivoire. He lives in Takoma Park with his wife and daughter.
